Ramada

The Ramada hotel of today The old Holiday Inn, a renowned venue in Colombo was given a complete front of house facelift, transforming it into a modern city hotel.

While most other hotels are gated and hidden away from public view, the Ramada hotel sits right on the street, set back only by its driveway. The remodelled lobby has been connected to the street by transforming into a double height space with glazing along the street. The space, now flooded with natural light is animated by the busy street.

The introduction of the new patisserie and the Trunk jewellery store at the public edge of the space has helped transform the lobby into a semi public realm, as non-hotel guests enter and move through what was once a closed private space. This gives added exposure to the hotel translating into additional revenue generation.
